OUR PROCESS
We've created a step-by-step guide below that outlines how we'll work with you to design and manufacture your one-of-a-kind ring from start to finish
STEP 1: SEND US AN EMAIL
To book your one-on-one consultation, simply reach out to us at INFO@BEAUDELL.CO.ZA.
While you wait for our response, why not start browsing online for inspiration? Pinterest and Instagram are great platforms to explore and collect images of jewelry that inspire you. Consider the jewelry style, stone options, stone size, and budget during this stage.
STEP 2: MEET WITH US
We can arrange either an in-person or virtual meeting to suit your preferences.
Once your booking is confirmed, all you have to do is show up for your consultation and we'll guide you through the entire process.
STEP 3: CHOOSE YOUR STONE
Once we have a clear idea of your design, we'll start looking for stones that fit your specifications. We work with a network of certified suppliers to source a customized selection of stones for you to choose from. We understand that the stone you choose should align with your lifestyle, aesthetic, and budget. Once we have found some great options, we'll invite you back to the studio or set up a virtual call so that you can view your choices and choose your final diamond or gemstone.
STEP 4: WE DO A DIGITAL DESIGN
At Beaudell, we use a special computer program called MATRIX to bring your custom jewellery design to life. This cutting-edge technology creates a detailed 2D or 3D image of your ring, giving you a clear picture of what the finished product will look like. The rendering process typically takes about a week to complete.
It's important to keep in mind that the final product may look more delicate than the 3D rendering, which can appear more bulky or heavy.
STEP 5: WE SEND YOU A QUOTE
Once we have finalized your design, we'll send you a quote for your approval. If you're completely satisfied with both the design and the price, we'll ask for an 80% down payment to confirm your order.
Once we receive your payment, we'll move on to the next step, where we prep your digital design for casting. Keep in mind that the sourcing and quoting process can take anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design.
STEP 6: WE CRAFT YOUR TREASURE
Once your design has been finalised and cast, it's passed on to our skilled craftsmen who will work their magic to bring your dream piece to life. With great care and attention to detail, each gemstone is placed with precision and expertly set.
We take pride in the quality of our workmanship and ensure that every piece is crafted with the utmost care. Production typically takes around 3 weeks to complete, and once we're finished, we'll ask for the remaining balance to be settled before you collect your new ring.
STEP 7: WE DELIVER OR YOU COLLECT
Once your custom piece is complete, we will take special care when packaging your item. You have the option of collecting it from our studio or we can safely courier it to you with insurance.
For international orders, we use DHL and will quote you separately on the rate for your shipping.
FAQ'S
HOW DO I BOOK A CONSULTATION?
We ask that all clients who wish to meet with a custom designer do so by booking an appointment. By doing this, we can ensure that your consultation gets the time and attentiveness it deserves - without any interruption. Kindly reach out at info@beaudell.co.za, and let us know a day and time that works for you. Consultations are 60min, and will be charged at R450, and can be held in person or via Skype.
I DON’T LIVE IN SOUTH AFRICA. CAN I STILL HAVE A CUSTOM PIECE MADE?
Yes, of course! We are happy to correspond via email or Skype. Once we have an idea of the kind of gemstones you’re interested in, we will source a variety of suitable options and send you descriptions, images and videos. DHL handles all our shipping, which normally takes up to one week and costs vary depending on your location. Please note that you will not be liable for any import tax charges or any additional insurance charges.
BUDGET & PAYMENT PLANS
The cost of the ring depends on the quality and type of gemstone used. The price of a white diamond varies greatly and can make up 70-80% of the total cost of a jewellery design. Other gemstones like coloured diamonds, sapphires and emeralds can also be used and are in a slightly lower price bracket. The starting budget for a custom design ring is R20 000 and upward. It is possible to create a ring for less, but then either the size or the quality of the gemstone will be compromised. Please provide us with a budget range upon your consultation query, as this will allow us to source you the best possible diamond or gemstone within the costing range that you are comfortable with. *Please note that budget guidelines also apply to occasional wear such as pendants, bangles, and earrings.
WHAT METALS DO WE WORK WITH?
We work with solid 9ct, 14ct and 18ct yellow, rose and white gold. We also work with platinum. Different gold colours are obtained by the alloys added to pure gold (24ct.) Yellow gold’s alloys are silver and copper; rose gold’s alloy is copper; and white gold is either palladium or platinum.
